The Syrian Women’s Political Movement Statement on the Israeli occupation forces’ attack on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the feebleness of the international community

Brutal attacks and assaults were carried out by Israeli occupation forces at Al-Aqsa Mosque Wednesday, targeting Palestinian worshipers who were performing the Fajr prayer. This incident comes within a series of military escalations taking place in various parts of Palestine and includes racist statements by some ministers of the Israeli occupation government.

The Syrian women’s political movement indicates that this security and military escalation and violence against the Palestinian people is a result of the international community’s inaction towards all the systematic violations that Israel has committed against the Palestinian people for seventy years. This includes practices that violate all international laws and relevant UN resolutions.

The Syrian women’s political movement condemns in the strongest terms this incident and the flagrant violation of the legitimate right to practice religious rites in peace. The movement affirms the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, the restoration of their occupied lands and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, and it calls on the international community to take effective measures to stop the Israeli military escalations and protect the rights of the Palestinian people and ensuring peace and security in the region.
