The Syrian Women’s Political Movement Statement Regarding the Targeting of the Hospital in Gaza by Israel

In an unprecedented escalation of the Israeli war on Gaza, Al-Muadhami Hospital in Gaza was deliberately targeted, resulting in a large number of civilian casualties, both dead and injured, as well as medical staff. The death toll has exceeded 1300 people (until the moment of writing the statement), with dozens of wounded. This deliberate targeting constitutes a war crime and a crime against humanity, and the perpetrators must be held accountable.

We, in the Syrian Women’s Political Movement, strongly condemn these crimes. We denounce the targeting of civilians and emphasize that silence about them gives Israel the green light for further aggression, violations, and the violation of all prohibitions, thereby breaching the international laws that deter such crimes.

We call on the effective international authorities for an immediate cessation of fire and violence in Gaza by all parties, and the necessity to hold accountable those responsible for these crimes, bringing them to justice in accordance with international laws.

We believe that justifications and turning a blind eye to these crimes have allowed and continue to allow the killing of civilians and ensuring impunity, whether in Syria or today in Gaza, perpetuating both the Syrian and Palestinian massacres.

Mercy for the victims,

Speedy recovery for the injured,

Justice for all who have suffered injustice and assault.
