The Syrian Women’s Political Movement (SWPM) invites you to its press conference, held for the first time in the city of Damascus. This event is part of the movement’s relentless and ongoing efforts to build a free, unified, diverse, and sovereign Syria based on a participatory vision for all—women and men alike.

The conference will be attended by members of the SWPM, representatives from Syrian political bodies, independent politicians, and several civil society organizations and entities.

Objectives of the Conference:

  • Introducing the SWPM Presenting its program and political vision.
  • Introducing the “National Consultations” project, which has been facilitating discussions with Syrian women from diverse regions across Syria since 2018. These consultations have resulted in policy papers that reflect women’s perspectives on critical political issues affecting Syria.
  • Presenting the “Feminist Political Track for Peacebuilding” Project:
This project, based on Syrian national dialogue, through these dialogue rounds, a white paper of agreements was produced on certain contentious issues among the Syrian opposition entities. Between May and November 2024, the SWPM conducted an open and in-depth dialogue with 12 political entities inside Syria and abroad. The aim was to establish broader national consensus on problematic issues related to Syria’s future. Agreement was reached on several discussed topics, while some contentious issues remain open and require further discussion.
